new 9wk old oxford sandy and blacks

Hi our new pigs have arrived and settled in very quickly, just over a week, but one has a swollen eye with some discharge or something sticking to her eyelashes. Is this ususal for them to get into scrapes or bumps, or is this something more? Any advise would be great. Yvette.

If the eye is swollen and has a discharge you should really call the vet, it will need baything to flush out anything thats in it(could be a straw seed or shaving depending what you use, some pigs react badly to new bedding (we changed straw supply one year and all pigs had bad eyes for a while, reaction to what its been sprayed with) It may also need some oinkment ;)  to soothe it.
