Kunes- How much winter hay needed per body weight?
« on: June 23, 2022, 09:24:42 pm »
Hello,
We anticipate obtaining kune kunes this fall and want to prepare in advance.  We'll have about 4 months without much pasture to eat.  Is there a formula to calculate how much grass hay to have put up for them to eat?  I know that cattle eat about 1.5 to 2% of body weight.  We want to avoid buying expensive grain/pig feed and stick with hay and safe garden left overs.  We'd really appreciate any advice about this!  Thank you. : )
