Introducing Del and Rodney
« on: August 09, 2010, 05:06:11 pm »
Whhheeeehheeee i am having such fun!!

Got our two Berkshire weaners yesterday...i just cant take my eyes of them. They are so comical and full of beans..... and the horses havent even noticed that they are here. Del and Rodney dont seem to be squealers!!! Even when we carried them to their new pen.

They are already throwing turf around like a couple of veterans, and have dicovered the delights of a good scratch behind the ears!! going to get a stiff scrubbing brush for them methinks!!

They dont seem to like the sow and Weaner cubes, so i have soaked them - i suppose that is OK??

no problems is soaking the cubes, but may well be that they have a feast of grass and vegetation, and your cubes are boring at the moment!

Aaaaah, they soooo sweet!
Give it another few months and they'll be as big as that trough!

Mix the feed with something sweet if you're worried they're not eating enough. Is it the same feed they were fed before you picked them up?

Hehee!!  :pig:
they are rolling over for tummy scratches, and its only day 2!!! I really thought it would take a week or so to get them used to me! they have me well trained already....
i have put a tree stump in for them to scratch against, too.
Del is by far the more precosious, and is always trying to taste my wellies....but Rodney, being the studious type, hung back, worked things out and was the first to present his tummy for a scratch!! Clever boy. ;D

I had a Rodney and Del Boy last year - called that because they were Trotters! This year I have Delia and Nigella.
