Just a quick intro.

My wife and I are in the process of buying a smallholding near the West Wales coast. 8 acres, currently laid to pasture. We intend to convert it to horticulture, maybe some bees, over a period of years.

Plenty of experience of growing, all sorts, but maximum size about a quarter acre. Nothing on this scale. Excited and a little nervous!

Hi and welcome! Good to see horticulture on smallholdings. I think there's great scope for this - look forward to hearing about your progress.

Hi and good luck with your new venture.  Hardest bit will be preventing the resurgence of pasture grass (!!!), but I imagine you will do a bit at a time.

Thanks, all. We're not going to rush anything. Guess I'll turn over a small section this autumn and let the frost do its work whilst we make plans. Watch the weather, where the sunny and shady parts are, that sort of thing. Anyway, we'd best get the purchase finished first!

Couple of miles inland from Aberaeron. We were in Llandeilo a few weeks back!
