Hi folks,
My five year old (ish) toggenberg (ish) girl has a really swollen udder which was very "full" to the touch. I had a wee go at her teats and low and behold she is full of milk.
She is kept with two neutered males, of the same age but they are not smelly like and intact billy and I have never seen them attempting to engage in mating...... so 99.9% sure she not pregnant.
So what do I do now?
Is this a sign of an underlying issue? Or one of those things that happens - shes just gone broody?
Shes a lovely girl and was very sore when I first touched her udder but seems happier now some had been taken off.
As a lady who fed her own bairns, I am sympathising with her and the degree of discomfort she must be in....
If I leave her will she dry off herself or do I risk her getting mastitis or other issues?
Thank you for any advice.
