Kune kune breeding - max sow age
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:15:37 pm »
Hi,
Does anyone have any advice on what the max age we should look to breed from our Kune Kune. She is 6 and hasn't had a litter before. She lives with her brother who has had the snip, is he called a Barrow now? She's in very good condition, nice and healthy and a good weight. Any help/advice much appreciated.
Thanks

You would probably find it hard to get her to conceive at this age for the first time. Although she may look a good condition on the outside, they can lay fat down internally, particularly around the ovaries and this often means it is hard to get older gilts (first timers) pregnant.
