Is it ok to keep my weaner outside in winter. With a stye in the field i will get them in october at 2 month old ?.

Good sheltered field, loads of straw, feed accordingly allowing that they will use a lot of feed just to keep warm, they will be happy pigs.

As Hilary's mum says and so long as they're not up to their armpits in wet mud they should be ok. Pigs must always have somewhere dry to feed and lay out if the weathers nice!! (We live in hope of dry winter) and it might be an idea though to have a back up plan for moving them in case of flooding or extreme conditions.

H and FF say it all - we have pictures of weaners and mums running around in the snow and having great fun.

they need to be able to

get dry
Get warm
Get out of the wind

Fix those three and they can survive the worst weather, both wet and cold
