Advice re caravan on farm
« on: August 29, 2017, 06:43:03 pm »
Hi, just wondering if anyone here is able to give me any advice on this situation...

If someone was living in a caravan permanently, on someone else's farm rent free and without planning permission, what would the legal situation be? I understand that some rights kick in after 10 years - do those rights belong to the landowner or the person living in the caravan?

Many thanks if anyone can shed light on this issue generally, or point me in another direction if more appropriate :)

Two separate aspects here. The planning rights would go to the land/caravan if there is evidence.
After that, if granted, Not sure on the right to stay of the persons involved however

Thanks very much for the reply, greenbeast.

It is a situation that everyone seems happy with for now, I just want to have an idea if it might cause problems for anyone further down the line.
