Cake design help please
« on: July 20, 2017, 07:51:02 pm »
i want to enter a competition at the local show.

I have to make a cake, not exceeding 8 inches in diameter, and it has to be a 'celebration cake' as the show caterers are celebrating 25 years in business.

Making the cake isn't a problem, it's how to decorate it.

Do I go for standard looking celebration I.e 25 years in silver etc, sort of posh looking or should I make some sort of novelty cake to show something about show caterers I.e. Burger and chips cake or food stall etc...

I just can't work out how to interpret the brief. Any ideas?

Decorate it with a silver service place setting?

I'd go for something a bit odd/eye catching. Why limit yourself? :)

the trouble is I am brain dead for some reason and can't think of anything odd/eyecatching.

I'm willing to have a go at most things, just need the insipration

What design did you decide on in the end?

I decided to do an ice bucket cake. I thought it was good but it didn't even get placed :-(

Well done
Looks good, eye catching, certainly a celebration cake.
the judge obviously didn't fully interpret the brief when judging
