Two-wheel tractors

Hello folks!

I'm in the market for a 2-wheel tractor and implements and looking for advice.  (Can I just say at the outset that I can't afford a 'proper' tractor!)

The main tasks I'd like it to perform are:
* Scythe/finger bar mower for 3.5 acres - I am fit and willing!  This would need done probably twice per year
* Mower attachment for the lawn (no room for a tractor either)
* Rotavator and plough attachment for the allotment
* Pulling capacity for non-motorised attachments, such as trailer, roller, harrow, etc

Does anyone have any experience of the Moutfield 95h system?  Or have any recommendations that are cheaper than used BCSs?

Many thanks,
Lynn

Was researching them yesterday too.
Can't really answer you question but am interested in what others would say
Growing loads of fruits and vegetables! Raising dairy goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits on 1/2 acre in the middle of the city of Leicester, using permaculture methods.

This will not be a lot of help, but I sympathize:  finding higher-end used 2W tractors is not easy in the UK and then finding them at a "decent" price is even more difficult.
I can't offer any substantial comment on the Mountfield you mentioned, but it's 4+ HP should be enough if you don't "push" it too hard!
The real reason for posting is to say that a standard lawn mower for the lawn might be cheaper than a mower attachment for the 2W tractor !?

(If you do decide on the Mountfield, I'm sure many will be interested in your assessment of it idc.)

Just saw this blog about the slightly cheaper Neilsen CT3324:

Waiting for an answer to some specific questions about this model before taking the plunge...

Hi Lynn,
we're running a used goldoni 2-wheel tractor, and it's mostly fun. I was lucky to get one from an agricultural trader (for1400£) and it was properly serviced and checked. Must be easier (and cheaper?) to ryan-air to Italy and get one there - but I couldn't be bothered. For transporting stuff, I got me a pre-loved motorbike trailer for free and found a tractor repair place that could weld on a hitch that fits to the bar on the goldoni. Almost perfect. The only attachment I have so far is a finger-bar that looks very impressive but needs a lot of tl&c (OK, the area that I mow is very hilly, scottish, uneven and I'm constantly hitting rocks) - so it's annually off to expensive service and repair (you'll find specialists at your local agriculture show). Oh, and we have a chain harrow, which works well behind the 2-wheel tractor. Pulling capacity for the goldoni is less of an issue - it's got a lot of ooomph (8HP), but even with the differential disengaged the wheels tend to spin when the going gets tough.
Good luck!
