Does anyone know where I can get hand shears sharpened? I am based in Somerset.

I used to get my surgery's clipper blades sharpened here (postal) : http://www.diamondedgeltd.com/
But I'd have thought that simple hand shears could be done yourself with an oil stone and then honing paste and a leather strop easily enough... it's a matter of care and patience when doing it manually just like sharpening wood chisels. It's way quicker with power tool sharpening.. a local wood carver or habby model engineer could do them for you too.

You can do it by hand as above but the difficult bit is getting the relative angle of the 2 cutting blades set right afterwards.
I get mine done by small local lawnmower firm.
