Rearing orphan lambs
« on: March 26, 2017, 10:59:31 am »
Hello everyone, I'm new to this!
I'm looking for some advice on rearing a couple of lambs for the freezer, although we farm about 160 acres I only have a small amount of grass behind the house where for the last few years we've fattened rare breed pigs successfully. The area is only about 30m X 10m, so obviously I'd need to feed hay etc after the grass has been eaten?
Does anybody else reared lambs like this and able to give me some guidance on timings, costs and anything else?
Thanks for your time in replying.
