Brewers yeast exp. 2012 ok or not?
« on: May 19, 2021, 11:10:22 am »
Finally getting round to making my plum wine and elderberry shortly. My brewers yeast went out of date in 2012. Been sealed since last used (year before that) will it be ok or should I buy new?

Probably buy new.  You could test it by mixing with warm water and sugar like you would for bread yeast, but it's not worth wasting a whole batch of plum and elderberry wine  :yum: :yum:  for the sake of a pot of yeast.
