Ryeland Tup Wanted
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:27:46 am »
Looking for a Ryeland ram to tup my three girls this year.  We're not in the market to buy one yet!
He needs to be fully registered with RFBS, and white -we know one of our ewes carries the black gene.
Pedigree must not include the following sires:
Ruslin Zoon,  Ruslin Picasso

Thanks!

Have you tried looking through the flock book to see who is near to you and willing to oblige your girls.
I have rams here but probably too far for you.
Penybont Ryelands. Ystwyth Coloured Ryelands.  2 alpacas, 2 angora goats, 2 anglo nubian kids, 3golden retrievers a collie and a red fox labrador retriever, geese, ducks & chickens.

Hi Kaz,

I've had a look, but we have lots of common bloodlines and the local breeders don't have any suitable rams.
Still looking!

Your best bet is to go to the annual sale at Ludlow -  28th August.

A bit of a hike for you I know, but you will get a wider choice than anywhere else. Good oportunity to meet lots of Ryeland folks not in your area too. You could try getting a bunch of you together and sharing transport.
