The only time you should worry Langdon, is if their tummies are completely silent!

Oh yes, I like to hear movement in the tummy region.  Same with  my horses.  If their tummies are silent, it can be a sign of the dreaded colic.  I have spent many hours listening to animals sides, to check for noises :D

They say you learn something new every day - here am I, 66, and I honestly didn't know that about goats and horses ::)
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Annie, as soon as the vet arrives, he listens both sides of the tummy.  If there is rumblings noises, thats a good sign, and means food is passing throgh the gut - if its silent, particularly in horses, that can mean a blockage.  Once though, one of my ponies had a stomach that sounded like a washing machine, it was really loud .....and vet agreed, that was just too much noise, and had to give her an injection.
