Final DAYS. Whats right
« on: May 19, 2010, 09:38:07 pm »
Our first pigs are almost ready to go to the abattoir, only we are a little confused. We are a little worried when we get to the abattoir we have the correct identification. Some people we talk to say they have to have two tags in the ears and others say two tags plus slap mark. Ive even been told no tags or slap marks ,does this differ from abattoir to abattoir. The last thing we need is to arrive on the day with problems.!!! Currently they have a plastic tag put in when we bought them. Any information would be great. CHEERS .!!!!

Hi,

Speak to the abbertoir that you will be taking them to.

Generally plastic tags are not acceptable.

Metal Tags, Slapmarks - or Both!

Dont forget to fill in FCI forms as well as the movement form

Thanks

They only need one form of id, either an eartag that can withstand processing (metal) or double slapmarks, you can do both if you like but either is acceptable.
