some inspiration needed please
« on: March 20, 2016, 09:59:53 am »
I know it seems early to be talking about Christmas but I need some inspiration for my Christmas challenge.
The topic is 'flower'
We can make anything using wool (and other things too if we want) as a medium. So it can be spun, woven, felted, knitted, crochet etc....
Last year I made the felted squirrel so I don't want to do something similar.
I am at a total loss as to what to do this year. Please help

Flower cap in Xmas colours? Knitted, or felt, or knit-> felt.

Try overshot weaving to make a flower motif?

Socks or slippers, knitted, with flower motif - could be stranded colour work, or cabling.

Wet felt flowers, could be decoration or brooches.

I can never think of anything when it's my own challenge!
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

What about a crochet or felt table runner with poinsettias or Christmas roses?
Would look nice with some metallic thread in and twinkly little seed beads sewn in  :)

That's an interesting thought Dogwalker.

I already have some fleece that I dyed with rosebay willow herb and himalayan balsam. I will get my books out and see what other flowers I can use.
