Thank you [member=10673]SallyintNorth[/member] I think I will take him to somewhere a little more local to see whether he shows interest in sheep, if he does then I'll go to David Scrimgeour. I've heard so many good things about him and though he isn't local he's certainly not as far as some.  Also I saw that he has experience with huntaways which really exited me as I think Cooper may have some huntaway in him! Thank you SO much for your advice it means a lot and recomendations from real people are always reasuring!!!

Sounds like an excellent plan

Derek has written a book, Talking Sheepdogs and has a DvD The Shepherd's Pup.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Astra Sheepdog Centre used to have working pupils ... might be worth asking if they still do.

I've just got a collie from astra, I think she might be moving to Dumfries which is unfortunate as she is only up the road! But I know she takes folk in to work/ exercise/ look after dogs, this could be a fabulous work experience opportunity.

Hi  btw, I'm near arbroath
pygmy goats, gsd, border collie, scots dumpys, cochins, araucanas, shetland ducks and geese,  marrans, and pea fowl in a pear tree.
