Thinking about our younger daughter who, at the age of 39 (today) has just started her paediatric nursing degree that's she's wanted to do for several years. Finally there and she says her brain hurts with all the stuff she's being told and this is before she actually starts studies.

Bored at "work" so I went home as it was a sunny afternoon and spent a couple of joyous hours watching the birds,in particular the male black bird singing along with classic fm on the steading radio.

Bored at "work" (again)  so I went home and set the outside light timers and checked the torches ready for the winter, ran the genny then had Mrs RTB's  home made carrot and lentil soup and hot rolls, Winter drawers on !

Pressing apples, I have been collecting the windfalls from the last couple of weeks and trying out the new apple press. I was pleasantly surprised how sweet the juice was ,  ready now for cider making.....


I may take the press into work tomorrow and squeeze the management types, see if the pips squeak

Today being my birthday and OH working away so I went out with my camera …..     What a day...………. I managed to take a photo of a mum seal coming up a beach to feed her baby.....  am soooo pleased with it    (is too big to post here … I'll try to shrink it then post ...

Picking the remaining apples off the trees before the storm comes over us and I have too many windfalls to deal with (again). 

Note to self: Must either prune the trees or get a better set of steps.

we spent the day hoping to find a RIB  in the greenhouse so that we can  float away off the hill if it doesn't stop raining . Got 4 inches in the bucket since last night with an ocean more to come .

I just hope the grass seed on the new lawn has managed to sink a few micro roots down  lest it washes away.

Re-marking the boundary of my property again as i actually read my deeds fully and found that the original fence line is incorrectly erected 2m inside the correct boundary line dimensions. 2m probably is not much to people with acres to play with but my garden needs every metre i can get hold of. Oh and getting VERY wet whilst doing so
