Shearer wanted

For my very quiet Gotlands - plus elderley Shetland who is also  quiet, and two Soays - if I can catch them that is.  11 in total.  Derbyshire/Cheshire border.  No electric at farm, so needs to be battery operated.

Most travelling shearers have their own genny. Put up ads in your local agricultural suppliers and your local market. I know it's difficult because you don't know what the weather will be but best to book someone in March/April.

Our weather is so unpredictable up here - have snow in June sometimes.  Most of the known shearers round here only want to do the large flocks, thats the problem.  A local farmer says he will do ours, but like everyone, he is rushed off his feet with his own sheep, then he does someone else;s, and I end up at the back of the queue every year.  One ewe has lost her wool when she lambed, so thats one less!!

Hi try Ted on 07753 827015.  He's an old boy who only does small lots, but does a good job.  I think he's based Wrexham way and might cover your area.

Thanks, SteveRat - appreciate your reply. I know there are other small flocks near me, who also struggle to find a shearer who is reliable, so may be able to find a couple more who want theirs done.
