Hi, I have a large hedge of conifers that I have been cutting with a hand held hedge cutter, I would like to make the job a bit easier and quicker so was think of investing in a secondhand finger bar hedge trimmer for my compact tractor. Anyone advise me if a finger bar is any good for cutting conifers and what kind of job will it make. My hedge is about 9 foot high and has plenty room for my ford 3910 tractor to get close for cutting.

Hi, I used to use a McConnel Swingtrim attached to a Ford 1210, so smaller than your tractor. Cuts conifers fine (with practice) Can some times be found on Ebay quite cheaply. Your tractor would have no trouble with it, and will cut up to about 11ft on the sides.
