Scouring lambs - result
« on: September 08, 2014, 12:23:32 pm »
I hijacked another post recently to say that my lambs, who had all been wormed 6 weeks ago, were scouring badly. I wondered if it was due to too much grass as it seemed to coincide with stopping their hard feed.
Anyway, yesterday I put out a load of hay, which, much to my surprise, they and the ewes were very happy with. This morning, all dry bums

Our cows were scouring this week so are being fed barley straw to bulk them out a little... must be something in the grass!

I can only think that all the rain we had during August has made the grass lush again. not something I would have expected at this time of the year.
