Southdown Ewe and Ram Lambs
« on: May 07, 2014, 09:30:10 am »
I'm starting my "Reserved" list for this year's ewe lambs, which will be weaned in mid July.  We started our Southdown flock ten years ago, with stock from the RBST Livestock Officer, and run a closed flock apart from buying in a new ram every two years.  The flock has high health status - no Johnes, Jaagsiekte, Border Disease, orf, abortion diseases or footrot.  All lambs will have had two doses of Ovivac P Plus and an application of Clik that will last through until the end of September.  We don't sell breeding stock that we wouldn't breed from ourselves, if we had the grazing available.  It is farm policy to cull all ewes with ringwomb, prolapse, mastitis and poor mothering ability and the health and productivity of the flock has improved accordingly.  Please PM me for further details.
