PTO porn
« on: November 20, 2013, 05:17:42 pm »
We have just purchased a lovely mid-range Kubota tractor and are now indulging in a bit of PTO porn.

What's everybody's most essential PTO bit? I just have fantasies about a really good chain harrow!! Sad I know!

Just bought a used (Goldoni) 2-wheel tractor and have similar wet dreams of chain harrows. My favorite PTO-dream is one with a winch in it to wind up the electric fence (not sure, if that exists, but it sounds good).

a really good chain harrow

Er... I thought chain harrows attached to the 3 point hitch - well at least that's where we attach ours.

We use our PTO for fertiliser spreading and for making hay with the Haybob.

Spreading fertiliser now takes minutes with a PTO spinner

As far as other stuff goes I have heavy duty pallet forks which will lift a tonne or carry 20 hurdles or lots of fence post etc etc.  Far more useful than a link box

when i got my first new to me (14 years old) tractor my greatest satisfation was making my own hay. no more worrying and hassling to get contractors and neihbours to do the work. so gooood!

i too am wondering how does  any chain harrow have anything to do with the PTO? i know a chap who used to be a dairy farmer and has a pto shaft sticking out the end wall of his milking parlor hooked up to a generator, this way he could hook up one of his 3 tractors for emergency power in the case of a power cut to keep milking! :D

we had a PTO 3 point linkage topper and the same mate has a fertilizer spreader run off pto and 3 point and he has all the hay making stuff etc
Cheers Ed
