Thanks all, much appreciated (but I still feel like an eejit  :D ).

Get used to it, you're getting older like the rest of us  :-J  :roflanim:

Please don't - someone I used to be an 'admin' with on a support forum wiped the entire lot once. Literally a blank forum with about 6 years worth of emotional support messages and information gone!   I think she went on to moderate netmums after that  ;)
Smallholding in Worcestershire, making goats milk soap for www.itsbaaathtime.com and mum to 4 girls,  goats, sheep, chickens, dog, cat and garden snails...

Not an idiot but human    I remember finishing off a long report for a child in care that was due to be handed out at a core group meeting the next day, as all the rest of the team were on strike (I was working for an agency) I enjoyed the time getting stuck in...then, my boss brought me a coffee and cake and I accidently pressed delete instead of save so deleted the lot...no back up and I had not saved any of it!!! Thankfully I did remember most stuff so started again...lesson learned for me!

Could have happened to me... I remember that night (5 to 12, of course!) when I wiped my entire hard disc. Argh!
Not to worry - we'll all survive!  ;)

I accidently pressed delete instead of save so deleted the lot...

Deleting a file does not delete it - merely changes the file information to tell the computer it can be overwritten. Thus it would have been easily recoverable.

Just out of interest how would you go about finding it when something like that has happened?
