I had a tiny bit of red spider mite many years ago in my greenhouse but have had nothing since. Suddenly my aubergines, peppers and even peas are completely smothered in the mites' fine webs. I'm spraying them with water every day and rubbing off every bit of web I can get to, but they still come back. I will burn the pea plants, but I do want to crop the peppers and aubergines.
So - what do I do to get rid of them now from the plants, and later to sanitise the tunnel and greenhouse without using chemical treatments?
I'm wondering if diatomaceous earth as used for poultry red mite might work on this, or would it clog up the pores of the plants?
