Hello from Oxfordshire!

Another lurker coming into the light - is there a lurkers anonymous section?  :D

OH and I managed to get our hands on 22 acres about 6 months ago - not easy to come by in these parts if you haven't won the lottery. 2 major downsides - it's 10 miles from home and it's in an environmental scheme which means pretty much nothing can be done with it till the end of next year.

Actually I'm turning that downside into a positive - no option but to research, research, research while i wait  and get to know our land / plan out what we want. I think if I had free reign now I may well jump into everything with both feet  :D

I avidly read everything on this site (as well as doing a lot of book reading / googling) and I'm really looking forward to picking your brains on loads of things as I get going with my planning  :)

Hello and welcome Torrin.   Wow 22 acres you are lucky and the wait is probably a blessing in disguise. It is very easy to jump in with your heart and not your head.
Life is like a bowl of cherries, mostly yummy but some dodgy bits

  Quite a coup .... we moved here from Oxfordshire to get land!   10 miles from home will restrict your options on the livestock front.

Enjoy the research (great excuse to spend hours at shows and visiting other peoples small holdings .... include ours it that list if you wish)

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.
