Last lamb - couldnt have done it without you....
« on: May 01, 2013, 05:35:52 pm »
Thank you so much everyone :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet:   For being there and answering daft and urgent questions alike.  14 ewes lambed outside, no lambing probs.

  • 1 mothering prob (pet lamb mule rejecting 2nd twin - bottle fed growing like stink)
  • 1 hungry set of twins prob - suplemented on field, still with mother, growing like stink
  • 1 post lambing prolapse - treated and harnessed on field, 2 lots of AB - still wearing harness and mothering well.
Now just got to keep the beauties alive till meat weight (14 rams lambs, 4 ewe lambs!)

Lambing kit

  • used lots of gloves,
  • a bit of 'lamb start' and powdered colostrum,
  • was glad I had in Alamycin,
  • should have had prolapse harness and heat lamp on stand by (had to borrow from neighbour)
  • didnt use lube.
  • Chose not to buy anything for navels....
Anyway THANK you so much all xxxxxx

Fi, glad its all going well. I know what you mean though. The people on this forum helped me through my first lambing too.
   for TAS'ers

Well done FiB

Hoping to be in your position at some point in my life, just wish it to be sooner rather than later. Especially after my last couple of months lambing and calving experience on a TASers farm
