now the proud owner and rearer of 12 foster lambs, 15 come tomorow! looking forward to the 5 am rises and the 12 am beds lol. anyone on the night shift come on for  chat il need the company!

Good luck :thumbsup: .  I would far rather be doing the midnight feeds than chained to my desk in an office - but needs must ::) .  I suppose that is what a lifetime of shift work does to you :thinking: Funny how life does not alway turn out as planned.

Good luck. I've got one I'm fedding, only arrived yesterday and I'm exhausted already. I also smell of lamb pee and powdered milk. Not a great look at work....

sorry iv not been on to reply iv been run of my feet what with work and lambs, managed to get 15 and got a call on friday night asking if id take another 7 but only had the space for 3 just now so im now on 18 lambs with bottles. on the upside theres 5 scotch mule tups that would make exellent stock tups once there old enough so any one think they may be needing a tup for the coming years message me :)

I don't know anyone that would use a Mule as a stock tup.  Males go to the fat, the females will be put to a terminal (fat) sire.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

yea i know that its just the thought of hand rearing and getting attached to them to know there going to the pot lol. but thats the way of it i suppose.

I'm rearing over 40 at the mo, but all are bucket trained, get them off them bottles and on to a bucket!!

i tried them with the ad lib bucket but they sucked the bucket dry n kept drawing air giving them selves sore stomachs, there 4 weeks so im weaning them off milk as we speak as they have access to creep pellets and they are some size alredy lol
