Hello from wales!
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:29:52 pm »
Hello,

I've been lurking a while and thought I ought to say hi!

We've a small smallholding 3.5 acres on the edge of the black mountains, just outside Abergavenny.

We've been here 6 months and often veer between overwhelmed and overexcited!

We have four ducks, 2 cats and 7 visiting sheep who are due to leave this week.

We have plans for sheep (grazing and meat), goats (dairy) and pigs (meat), and maybe starting with some pet lambs in the next weeks from a local farmer who gives away orphaned lambs.

I don't really know any other smallholders locally and friends and family think we are nuts  :eyelashes: so I'm hoping to feel less loopy here!

 Hi and welcome from soggy Shropshire.  You live in a lovely part and there are more TASers who also live in South Wales and no doubt will pop up to say hello soon.  I'm all in favour of goats, as you can probably guess.   ;D   I have Sanaans - just two at the moment but I'm a back garden smallholder so not room for too many.  I also grow fruit and veg.

We have 3  :&>:chook: 2 geese and 5  :sheep: (soon to be more when they lamb). We had 2  :pig: last year but they are now in the freezer.

Hello muddyhill! Pretty muddy here too, in Swansea. We have piglets and chickens at the mo. Hoping to get some geese, ducks and lambs in the spring!
