Growing pineapple
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:40:46 pm »
We are planning to build a conservatory and I want to grow pineapples. There is conflicting advice on the net about how to start them off.

At the moment I have four ripening on the windowsill and I'll take the tops off this weekend. I was thinking of perhaps starting two off wet and two dry.

Anybody here got any direct experience to share.

Oh right - I'll have a look at that. Thanks DITW.

I'm gonna be all over the cukes this year. Planning already  :D

This year the main things to take forward are proper trellising and getting in quick as soon as the first signs of nitrogen deficiency appear. :excited:

Heligan is my all time favourite garden to visit.  I spent ages taking photos in the vegetable garden while OH slept on a bench.
