Gin!
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:05:46 pm »
Hello everyone!

My mother is rather partial to Plymouth Gin (I'm taking her on a tour on Wednesday).  I'd like to make her some flavoured gin for Christmas (a long time off, but experience has taught me to plan ahead!).  We've made sloe and I know you can make damson, but are there any other flavours that can be added?
I'd like to do something a bit different.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I've done pineapple when they were cheap in the market.  Only leave the fruit in two weeks though, it doesn't get better past that!

I've had gooseberry gin (from Demijohn http://www.demijohn.co.uk/browse.php?category=Spirits&keyword=Spirit ) and have also made rhubarb gin myself.

I read today that Mulberry gin is excellent - if you can get hold of Mulberries!
