Photos on Auction sites - be careful
« on: June 27, 2009, 01:28:50 pm »
My son's shed was broken into overnight and two items he was listing on a well known auction site have been stolen, nothing else, so the Police reckon it's been a targeted theft.
The two items were listed separately. Both photos of the items showed different sections of the building they were kept in, and obviously the post code was in the advert.  Clever thieves scanned the auction site for a fairly local post code, found the listings, saw the photos and put two and two together that there was only one shed of that colour in that street.

Moral is - be careful to check photos before posting them on this site, don't show anything that can link the items with the post code.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
