We've finished lambing at last!
« on: May 19, 2009, 10:14:08 am »
One of the drawbacks of only having three ewes is that lambing seems to take forever. But Jura produced a ewe lamb last night, so that's us done. She did it all by herself and the lamb was up and wobbling around when we went to do a final check at 9pm. It's our only ewe lamb, so we'll be keeping her. Dan now has to pick a name starting with L.

Three - two boys and a girl. So Juno, Jura and Jinx have one each - and they seem to be fine, which was my main priority.

The wee girl will be Lyra (courtesy of Dan and Philip Pullman!).

were still waiting for our Cheviot's. The poor Shetland ram must have chickened out or he was too short. We thought they were pregnant if not the need a diet.
