What size shuttles do I need.
« on: February 25, 2013, 12:11:38 pm »
The loom has a 30 inch working area, although I doubt I will actually be doing anything that size in the foreseable future.
Can anyone suggest what size shuttles I should be buying?
thanks
Sally

I would have an assortment of sizes depending on what you are going to be making. This assumes you will be using stick shuttles.  You really need them to be slightly longer than the width of your warp so that you can take to end coming through while still having hold of the other end but, if you only have very long ones, you are making work for yourself on narrower warps.

Thanks MGM. I can't imagine myself using the full width of the loom for quite some time so shorter shuttles it is for now.

I'm sure it won't be long before you are getting adventurous.
