Looking for a chicken I had a few years back
« on: July 04, 2012, 04:10:23 pm »

I was able to buy a number of hens about ten years ago ..think they were a hybrid called Boca Neema
Not sure of the spelling ... (just wrote how I thought they were pronounced.)
Cannot remember the supplier but they were suitable for free range and hardy.
They were lovely birds Black with green metalic necks ... does anyone know where they came from ... was certain the supplier was from stafford
Sadly the fox had the lot one night but would dearly like some more... any ideas

Do you mean Bovans Nera?

If so, a google may throw up some results down your way - or see:

They're based in Leek.

(It says 290 further over, but I think they'd be well advised to adjust their layout!   :D)

Ah, website proof reading - an art-form in itself.

Ask me how I know...OK I'll tell you, my OH runs the Shetland Cattle Breeders Assoc website and I usually get to be the guinea pig on any new developments. Such is life for the wife of a programmer/developer  :)
