Pasteurella IMO

It can take them down quickly. She needs vet to confirm and meds PDQ

Yeh, pneumonia from Pasteurella I'd say. As Suzie says, it can kill fast, so he needs to talk to the vet quickly.

Alamycin, 1ml/10kg liveweight if I remember correctly - Id do that first off. My general rule with mucous is - if I can catch the animal in question, then worry. It doesn't sound like Jaagsickte, but you can always do the wheelbarrow test.

Hi

All seems good now! Spoke to friendly farmer down the road who gave me a shot of anti biotics to give her (10ml started with a T i think). By the evening it had all dried up and she is acting her self again.

These are my friends sheep who I check every day for him on the way back from seeing mine as he is getting on. He is away at the momment but got him on the phone, he didnt seem that worried and said she has been like this a few times in the past but thanked me for getting some anti biotics into her.

thanks very much for all the replies.

I had a sheep that had a nosebleed a couple of weeks ago - quite a serious one too - but absolutely no other signs of malady.  I obviously kept a close eye on her until it stopped.  wondered if she banged her face on anything (she was penned when it started) but couldnt see anything likely.  I lost 2 to pasteuralla  (PM diagnosis, not lab) earlier in the year, but they didnt have particularly runy noses and were very lifeless very quickly.
