I am a crofter living in Shetland, having moved here from Northumberland some 17 years ago. I keep pedigree Shetland cattle , a beef shorthorn cow,a pig, the obligatory sheep, Shetland ponies, poultry, along with my riding horse and assorted cats and dogs. As well as crofting I work full time as a chemist at the oil terminal.
Although I have looked after equines for many years , I have learnt the rest as I went along thanks to the help of some good friends.

Hello from Staffordshire Dogs Dinner. I don't think I could look after that much even when I retire. Do you ever get time to sleep?

Hello and welcome from Carnoustie

We have two Shetland heifers - bred by David Smith - and a bullock (for the freezer in due course). The heifers are due to calve in May and June respectively. We love our Shetland cattle.

I'm visiting Shetland in August for Cunningsburgh Show and some breeder visits, with the Shetland Cattle Breeders Association. Maybe we'll meet then
