post borer not working
« on: October 10, 2016, 10:58:28 am »
I have a siromer compact tractor which I brought a post borer for, it worked really well, pulling up large stones etc whilst boring. The hydraulics went and I had to buy new seals for it. The borer works but only goes a little way in, it's a shadow of its former self, the hydraulics work, any ideas what's gone wrong. I need to put up a lot of fencing posts.

low oil?
I assume these things pull themselves down rather than are driven down. So if it's low on oil it mught give up when loaded a reasonable amount

I presume that it is driven from the PTO? Which is probably hydraulically driven from an oil pump. So possibly low oil, blocked oil filter or a failing oil pump.

Hydraulics went?  What 'went' what was replaced?

Have you put an aftermarket ebay pump on?
