Well done you, we are still waiting for our final 2 to arrive . just had a chat with our neighbour and he's just picked up 12 dead lambs with contagious abortion,  very sad.

how did you do it

Good tupping management is the key to compact lambing. Or you only leave the rams in for three weeks.

Did all the ewes who went to the tup produce lambs?

We have changed our tupping times from january to march as we are reducing the pedigree flock and increasing the mules. the idea was that we would put the tups in for 6 weeks and sell the late lambers as run with tup. Unfortunately they all got tupped in 3 weeks and none returned! (you could say the secret is to plan for a 6 week lambing the ewes will do anything to confound any plans you make!!) we also used 3 tups on the 60, 2 have always run together and get anxious if they were seperated anyway and a new tup for the remainder. We had 1 ewe slip her lambs and 2 ewes that had a difficult lambing last year didn't even come into season so they will be going into retirement
