I am looking to buy some chickens
« on: March 19, 2009, 11:12:12 pm »
Hello - I know this isnt the right forum for this but I am stuck.

I am hoping someone can help, we are looking to buy a number of chickens from a nearby farm feathers on and all, can anyone help? I live in Dumbartonshire but willing to travel 100 miles +

Just plan to save money buy buying whole, butchering it and sticking it in the freezer.

Where I am from (suffolk) we used to have the cattle market .....now a shopping centre!!  ::) something like that would be great

Thanks
Sharon

Hi, dont know if its of any use, but i'm hatching what i hope to be a good meat cross, indian game x welsh black or ixworth, some ready to hatch in the next few days. If they all hatch ok will have more than enough for myself and will sell the surplus chicks.
also got a few welsh black cocks surplus that are getting bigger by the day ;D

I rather think Sharonj wants them at poo rather than pol ;) (point of oven not point of lay)

We used to get ours from the isle of Skye, when we lived on the West Coast,
They will transport for you,
these chickens are still with us and they are at least 12 years old, still laying wonderful big eggs with an orange yolk!

Can provide isa x warren hens if that is any good, they are POL though and not POO (doganjo lol). We are based in South Ayrshire, not sure if that is too far (geography is abysmal!)
