soay ewes attacking ram

i have just joined the site so hi to everyone.  i have just introduced a young ram to my ewes they have met over the fence for the past two weeks and were fine, now i have put him in with them they are being very aggressive towards him and im concerned he will get injured is this normal and will they accept him in a few days or should i take him back out

I can't see from your profile whereabouts you live, but I would suggest that you have put your tup in a bit early.  The ewes won't be ready yet so will be busy rejecting the tup and being young he won't know how to deal with them.  But leave him in now he's there and he will soon settle and be ready to deal with his ladies when they are willing to stand for him.  Soays tend to start cycling in mid Nov.
