« on: October 16, 2011, 08:17:29 am »
In a moment of madness OH decided to take a couple of weaners last month :-[ which means we shall have them over the winter months
My question would be   in order to gain the best from them i believe you need to adjust the protein in the feed to grow the eye of meat rather than purely laying down fat ??? Can anyone shed some light on this    i would appreciate some help

Thanks in advance :pig:

for a weaner pig you start at say 22% protein  from creep to say 20 kg

for a grower pig you drop the protein level to say 19 - 20% protein  from 21 kg to say 45 kg

For a finisher  you drop the protein level to 16 - 17% from 46 kg to 90 kg.
