I made it!!!  And it was delish!!!

YAY....I am officially a cheese maker:)

THanks Skirza....i followed your instructions to the letter and this morning untied my bag of cheesecloth to find a lovely round ball of philadelphia type goats cheese....

so who's feeling very proud of themselves then...... :D ;) :)YSY

Congratulations.  I can't wait til my soon to be mine goats are milking and I can have a go.

Now, this recipe of Skirza's - is that the Caerphilly-style one on  http://www.alvecotedexters.net/pressed_cheese.htm ?  Or has she posted another that I haven't spotted?

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

YAY....congratulations to you!! I believe the recipe in question was just my soft cheese recipe which is actually a bog standard one that comes with the cheese starter from Goat nutrition. The Caephilly style cheese is indeed the one on your link. Really easy and delish - good luck  :D
