Egg whites
« on: March 03, 2009, 03:35:14 pm »
I know this may sound silly, but it appears that the egg whites from my chicken's eggs appear to more runny compared to when they first started laying.

The hens are approx 8 months old.

Does anyone have any clues.

Thanks

Egg whites get runnier the longer you keep them - I'm no expert and Rosemary will help with any other explanation - maybe something to do with the health of the hens?  Are you collecting the eggs every day and dating them - probably a silly question and no insult intended.  I didn't used to date mine but always do now.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
