I was not sure whether to put this in 'Sheep', 'Marketplace' or here, so I thought I place it here as my query is neither one nor the other. This year, due to the problem getting a Bowmont ram, I've put my Bowmont ewes to one of my Polled Dorset rams. My dilemma here is that I don't know whether to ring the ram lambs or to leave them intact. If they were just Bowmont I'd probably leave them intact due to the shortage of rams, but not sure what to do with these crosses. They are best as wool sheep, and my first two lambs have beautiful fleeces so what should I do? Should I leave them intact in case someone might want to breed some Bowmont into their flocks to improve fleece quality, or should I ring them and market them as wethers for their fleece....HELP!!!!
