How about a relay system for such as this - Devon to Fife is a long way for one person, but a few could do it if they timed it right.  I heard of another rescue society doing this - English Springer I think.

we will be down in birmingham at the weekend, if someone could bring her to there, we could bring her to ayrshire. i can keep her here no problem until you could get her.

oh now this is getting exciting and maybe, just maybe, it starts to be do-able!!!  If we can make it work that we can get her here, I'd happily give the lass a happy home.  Small flock of sheep, lovely outdoor kennel, lots of TLC from the family, another dog (yorkie) for company, ducks to herd (!!), and a couple fo pigs.....

She went to a new home today so fingers crossed it all works out, however I do know of another one looking for a home.  Male, border collie, about 12 months old.  Should be coming to me for an assessment in the next few days to see working ability.

Will keep you posted on the progress of both.
