One ewe of mine looks as if her waters have broken,( all wet down her back legs and tail, no bags hanging out the back end.... how long would you wait before intervening?

yes totally, at first I thought it was straight forward, two legs and a rumage about for a head, but after a while I realised the head didnt go with the legs ;D, so had to push the legs back in and pull up the legs with the head that were bend backwards, got there in the end !! the other one followed easy.

of the first batch, 4 down 6 to go,   eight lambs from 4 ewes (7 ram lambs. 1 ewe lamb), so am I right in saying 200% lambing score?

Second batch end of March

I hope you used an obstetric glove and PLENTY of lubricating gel.

If you had to go in to the ewe. best to give her a bit of antibiotic cover in case of infection.

Heavens, your not having an easy time at the moment Andy. Still, you are coping well, that last one sounds particularly difficult - don't know whether I would have managed that delivery without calling for some help.  Take it all mums and lambs doing well.   Good luck with the rest.

Yes thanks there doing well and they were sucking when I returned last night so didnt have to give a bottle, yes have 5lts of lubricating gel, and im giving her 20ml a day anti biotics for 3 days as I have a bottle the vet gave me from last time.shes dropped her after birth so all looks great, I will do there tails and nuts before friday and they can go out at the weekend. The ewe I will check her teeth, trim her feet, dose her for worms, I have a white board in the barn, so Its always reminding me what to do next....then Ill transfer to the flock book.

It is a big learning curve from a milking herd but I  am enjoying it, feeling a bit tired

A whiteboard in the barn to keep track of everything needing done - now there's a brilliant idea Andy 8)

This has been fascinating reading.  I take my hat off to you Andy, I've delivered puppies like that but not sure I'd cope with sheep.  Well done.  Oh and I have a whiteboard in the kitchen to keep me right, and helps the vanishing grey cells. ;D
