What was wrong with my fruit trees last year?
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:20:15 am »

I planted an orchard 2 years ago, apples, pears, cherries and some greengage, last year the flowers just dropped off,I have one cooking apple from 12 trees!

When I purchased them from the local nursery, they were all in their large pots and covered in fruit!

Any advice welcome please!

The blossom may have been frosted, or they were too dry.  It could also be that the shock of planting them out has prevented them from fruiting last year but they should have recovered for the coming season.
