A wonderful experience [member=2213]Rustynuts[/member] and very good exercise indeed. Unfortunately my third Covid jab (Moderna) completely wrecked me for 6 months and I still wasn't right for 6 months after that, so the scythe fell out of use and was replaced by a Kiva combination mower/ brush cutter. and two Stihl electric strimmers. The machines have saved so much time cutting here that I can now do lots of other jobs, like pointing the stonework. I probably use the scythe for 30 minutes a year now, but I may try it on a grass bank because it might be easier than lifting a petrol strimmer at an angle of 45 degrees?

I may not have mentioned earlier, but you can't use a scythe on stoney ground. You will destroy the edge on the blade very quickly.
